What does ‘undertaken study or training’ mean exactly?

For Fees Free eligibility, if you have undertaken study or training, it means you were enrolled in tertiary learning, including:

  • study or training in New Zealand
  • study or training overseas
  • part-time or full-time study or training
  • workplace training or an apprenticeship
  • New Zealand study or training that you did before there was a New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) or New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF)
  • incomplete study or training, including where you withdrew but you did so after the refund period
  • study or training where you received a fail grade
  • study or training as a domestic or international student
  • study or training that had no fees associated with it
  • study or training that you may have accessed a student loan for or paid for yourself.
