What is a statutory declaration and how do I get one?

A statutory declaration is a written document that must be completed and then signed in front of an authorised witness, and is used when you need to confirm that something is true.

For Fees Free in 2018 to 2024, we used a statutory declaration in cases when we didn’t have enough information about your study and training history or citizenship/visa status.

The deadline for confirming your eligibility for first-year Fees Free was 31 December 2025. If you have not already emailed us your complete and signed statutory declaration, you cannot get Fees Free for your first year of study or training.
