What does my eligibility status mean?

Start by checking your eligibility status by entering your National Student Number (NSN) on the homepage. There are three possible outcomes:

  • If your eligibility status is 'Yes', then you are eligible for Fees Free. To access Fees Free, you will need to enrol in an eligible course or programme. The tertiary education organisation (TEO) you enrol with will be notified of your eligibility.

'2018 Starter' or '2019 Starter' mean you are eligible, and started accessing Fees Free in 2018 or 2019.

  • If your eligibility status is 'No', then our records show you do not meet one or more of the eligibility criteria and are not eligible. Follow the instructions on the page and complete the form if you want to understand why you are not eligible.
  • If your eligibility status is 'Maybe', then we do not have enough information to determine your eligibility. Please review the eligibility criteria, and once you know you meet all the criteria, then follow the link to generate a statutory declaration. If you are unsure and have questions about your own circumstances, please contact [email protected].
